Hi all,
recently i've been on the undernet network in the beginner channel. I like most of the people there, but one of the main ops there has a problem with the mirc with speech thing that comes up when you joijn a channel. All it does is tell the versiion of mirc with speech you're using, mirc withspeech .07. I told her itr was set up that way, but she says i need to disable it because it advertises its self. I think fudge set it up that way as a way of telling sighted people blind people use mirc with speech. Most of the tie i just have people making lame comments about it like so andso chooses pacatchen whatever the heck that is. Except for her, the only other problem i ran into was a channel on dalnet where one obnoxious ob said, whocares if you use mirc with speech, we don't need that crap, thats about it, most people don't even seem to notice. As for the op on undernet in beginner, well i haven't been back there since she told me i really needed to fix that. I was thinking maybe he should've had it to say blind people use mirc with speech, but then the finicky ops would just say our blindness advertises its self, huh. Anyway, I was wondering if there was a check box that would turn it on and off, and i could turn it offto appease the finicky grouchy ops, so i could go back and talk to other people in the channel, then turn it back on in places where it isn't a problem for people. On a slightly humorous note, someone was asking about how jaws said things, and i was being serious and answeringhis questions, and she's more about cutting up than helping folk i think, and a bit abrupt, anyway, this was on the message board they have there, and her nickname is frito, and she told the person her nick was simple, jaws says frito is a goddess, so i just couldn't resist telling her that to jaws, she was only a corn chip, something to be eaten, not a goddess. she said well thats true she was a corn chip, she guessed jaws doesn't have a sense of humor and couldn't pick up on tone and inflections, consider her chops busted.so does anyone know if there is an easy way to disable that and reenable it again?
